I help overwhelmed and people-pleasing perfectionists.
I get it. You’ve always been kind of an anxious person. But it’s never gotten in the way like it is now.
In fact, you’ve always thought the anxiousness helped you “do your best” and “feel ready” because you’ve prepped for all the scenarios!
Now, those same habits of thinking “what do I need to prep for so I don’t have to worry?” are leaking into other areas of life.
Maybe you notice yourself feeling joyful about something, and immediately think “oh sh*t, something bad will happen now because I don’t deserve to have this many good things, especially when other people aren’t this lucky.”
Then, you’re sucked back into the anxious thoughts about what might go wrong.
It’s exhausting…and it’s time to stop lying awake at night with these thoughts.
In case you’re the kind of person who wants to know exactly how I help…In sessions, I use a combination of therapeutic approaches, but my favorites are Brainspotting and Sandtray combined with Solution-Focused Therapy (because you want action steps). I approach our work together using Attachment Theory concepts. I choose a plan based on what will work best for your unique situation. And yes, I also have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
In case you want to know the official stuff, I earned my undergrad degree at Texas A&M University, my Masters degree from The University of Saint Thomas in Houston, TX, and am now a Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Texas.
We can meet in my office in The Woodlands, TX, or we can meet online anywhere in the state of Texas.
